TURF & SURF 2010
On July 31st 2010, join us for a day of biking and tubing on the Peshtigo. We will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Citgo/Burger King located on Hwy. 41 and the Hwy. B off ramp in Suamico. We will depart at 8:10 a.m. for the Crivitz area and a 15 - 20 mile bike ride.
After the ride, we will have a picnic lunch. Please bring your own food and refreshments. Following lunch, it’s time to cool off with a lazy river tube float down the Peshtigo River. Unlike last year, we will not be tubing from the Peshtigo River Campground but will once again be bringing our own tubes for a more pleasant part of the river. The float should take around 3-4 hours.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some items you may need for the float:
Your own tube (car, truck, tractor)
An extra tube if you have one to help with floating the shared coolers
Suntan lotion
Bug spray
A plastic fly swatter w/rope to tie to your tube
Your favorite beverage in plastic bottles
A snack for the rest stop on a sandbar
A hat
Sunglass retainers
Rope for tying tubes together if you want
Something for your feet
If bringing your inflated tube is an issue with your vehicle, contact me a.s.a.p. to see what can be worked out. Some of us have trucks.
Fleet-Farm has tubes to fit all butts.
We will be stopping for dinner somewhere on our way home and should be back in G.B. around 7:00 p.m.
~~ This Is Not A Bay Shore Bike Club Sponsored Event~~
REMEMBER
If not to old to bike, not to old to tube float
| We will bring an electric pump for those that need to inflate/deflate on day of the tube float. Also we shopped around this weekend & found really nice tubes at Denis Sport Shop in Ashwaubenon for $36 on sale. They come with a cover you can use or leave home. We also ordered a pretty cool inflatable cooler off amazon.com. =) See everyone soon! Shawn & Jessie |
CLARIFICATION
The pump we have will not inflate tire style tubes. It works with the inflatable bed style valves. |
