Annual Saint Paddy's Ride
Saturday Mar 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM
Put on something green, dust that bike off, grease up your chain, fill up your tires and come look for some leprechauns with us!
Meeting at St. Brendan's Inn, 234 S. Washington Street. Park on the street so we don't take up too much of their parking lot.
Time: 11 a.m.
Distance: 15 miles depending on capabilities of who shows up. We will once again head East away from the river and then South into the De Pere area, following most of last year's route, except we will head back at De Pere along the Fox River Trail (if the weather continues to cooperate and it stays clear), so try to pick up a Trail Pass if you can (they are available at the local bike shops or you can buy a day pass at the Trail kiosks).
Casual/Parade Pace: 10-12 mph.
No Drop. (Helmets Required).
Dress for the weather and the occasion!
We'll give you some Irish snacks & have some Irish music blasting out of the O'Goodman Element to get you started up!
Stay after the ride for an impromptu lunch at St. Brendan’s Inn, 234 South Washington Street, Green Bay, to enjoy some of their famous Irish menu, which offers traditional as well as contemporary Irish dishes. Order off the menu, pay as you go. No reservations required. Here is a link to their website if you want to look at their menu or anything else: http://www.saintbrendansinn.com/index.html
Weather Disclaimer: the roads could be icy and/or wet in spots, depending on the temperature, so dress accordingly and Ride At Your Own Risk. Only you know what you feel comfortable with and able to handle.
I’ll be using my Hybrid (comfort bike) Raleigh because it has wider, nubbier tires for such conditions.
If the weather is too awful (rain, intense wind, or God forbid, snow) we won't ride. We'll just get together at St. Brendans for some food instead!
