| Description: | ANNUAL GREEN ISLE PARK GOURMET RIDE--if it is raining we will NOT do the ride or the picnic!
12 miles C class ride - Beginner level
No Drop, Helmets required
Details: Gourmet means fine china, candle-light, soft music, fine food & equisite company--you!
We will have a bit of a shorter ride tonight so that we will then have enough time for one of our most popular summer picnics afterward!
We will ride the bike trails that run through the park AND some nearby city streets--it's pleasant but still a nice workout to justify the after-feast!
We will try to set up our meal afterward under the nearby Gazebo (if it is available, otherwise we do it on nearby picnic tables).
Please bring a dish to pass: Gourmet if you like to cook--however, don't be intimidated, deli food works too, just bring it in a NICE dish and we'll never know--it's really all about the presentation!
Also bring serving utensils, a nice plate to eat on, along with your own eating utensils and whatever you wish to drink.
Helpful: we usually bring china plates, wine glasses and eat on nice table cloths (bring one if you have one). We light up the candles, turn on some fine dining tunes and feast!
PS: if you have a great recipe and want to share it, please bring it along!
Directions: Green Isle Park is at the end of Greene Avenue. An easy way to find it is to come down Webster Avenue to Heritage Hill (which is by Interstate 172). Greene Avenue is directly across from the entrance to Heritage Hill State Park! Take Greene Avenue to the very end and you will see Green Isle Park. We park in the parking lot to the left just after you come into the park, near the main Park Pavilion and first gazebo area.
